All web sites have certain basic features in common: home and contact pages, search engine optimization needs, testing, etc. When I create a site, I begin with these basics, and then build off the basic site by adding custom features or applications to suit your needs. I don't believe in "reinventing the wheel", so if there is a good quality open source application available, I use it, installing and customizing it to match your site's design.

If no open source solution exists to meet your needs, or if you require additional features for an existing application, I will develop a custom solution for your organization. Some examples of custom applications I have developed are: content management, calendar, church choir administration, and a radio broadcast database.
I have in-depth experience developing plug-ins and customizations for the applications listed above (WordPress, osCommerce, bbPress, Gallery2, and The Address Book). For example, I developed a unified login for bbPress, Gallery2, and osCommerce so users only need a single login to access all applications. Other examples include gift certificates, coupons, live destination sales tax updates, alcohol sales compliance and multiple shipping address modules for osCommerce.
